Jana Morshed is a passionate and dedicated activist from Lebanon. With more than 20 years of experience, Jana has navigated her work in the community from theater, non-violence education, psychosocial support through theater and arts, to empowerment. 

She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture at the Lebanese University in 1992 with a specialization in Theater. She then worked in the field of theater, radio, and television education. She has 10 years’ experience in Education, between public and private schools, teaching Theater to children between 8-18 years old. Theater led her to social work, where she then studied Non-violence and Conflict Resolution at the Academic University for Non-violence and Human Rights (AUNOHR) in Beirut.

Jana has a wide experience in training of trainers, especially youth and women in marginalized areas, around topics of citizenship, community mobilizing, political activism, leadership skills, communication skills. She particularly worked for 4 years in Akkar with youth groups who work with children in schools and camps.  

In 2016, Jana joined Elissa and Mona from Steps team in the Women Empowerment family as a trainer in IMAGINE program, working with women in challenging life circumstances and enabling them to envision and create new possibilities for themselves, their families and the community.
